Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

  1. The Prize Draw is open only to alumni of the University of Hertfordshire Higher Education Corporation ("University of Hertfordshire"), who have registered on the Herts Alumni Portal on 14 February 2022 and who provide their email address and accept the terms and conditions after signing up.
  2. Entrants into the Prize Draw shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions. The University of Hertfordshire reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
  3. To enter the Prize Draw you must register for the Herts Alumni Portal. If you have any questions about how to enter or in connection with the Prize Draw, please email us at alumni@herts.ac.uk.
  4. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
  5. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
  6. University of Hertfordshire accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by University of Hertfordshire.
  7. The prize draw is open to anyone who completes their Alumni Portal registration by 23.59 on 14 February 2022. Entries received outside this time period will not be accepted.
  8. There is a total of one prize, 1 x £250 vouchers for 'Amazon'.
  9. One winner will be chosen for each prize from a random draw of entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will be performed by a random computer process. The draw will take place by 28 February 2022.
  10. The winners will be notified by email on or before 1 March 2022 and must acknowledge receipt of the email to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to University of Hertfordshire within 14 days of being notified, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and University of Hertfordshire shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 14 days or else they will also forfeit their prize). If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner's prize will be forfeited and University of Hertfordshire shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  11. The University of Hertfordshire must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the University of Hertfordshire will send the surname and county of prize winners to anyone who emails alumni@herts.ac.uk.
  12. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
  13. University of Hertfordshire retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
  14. University of Hertfordshire shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen on the website, https://www.herts.ac.uk/about-us/legal/privacy. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Prize Draw entry, and for the purposes outlined above.
  15. University of Hertfordshire disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in the Prize Draw.
  16. University of Hertfordshire reserves the right at any time and from time to time to cancel, suspend, modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Prize Draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud) or where it becomes necessary to do so.
  17. The decision of University of Hertfordshire in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  19.
